Perched above Airlie Beach with panoramic views of the Whitsunday Coast, Dacelo is a modern Mediterranean retreat shaped by calm minimalism and a deep connection to place. Natural stone, warm timber and soft coastal finishes anchor the architecture into the hillside, while courtyards, shaded terraces and generous openings encourage effortless indoor–outdoor living. From arrival, a defined approach leads guests from the driveway through the entry, across reflective water, and outward to the ocean horizon, a view corridor that established the home’s spatial direction and sense of anticipation. Designed for renewal, gathering and comfort, the residence becomes a timeless sanctuary designed for enduring comfort within its coastal landscape. 

OUR PROJECTS Project Azura Project type: Alterations & Additions  Location: Elanora, Gold Coast  ABOUT THE PROJECT A resort-inspired coastal retreat shaped by light and restraint. A resort-inspired coastal alteration and addition that reimagines an existing residence through light, landscape, and restraint. Defined by a sense of openness and spatial calm, the design draws on a relaxed architectural language where indoor and outdoor living are seamlessly connected. A palette of soft, natural elements and filtered light creates a tranquil atmosphere, while moments of layering and threshold establish a gentle rhythm throughout the home. Framed by palms and guided by a clear architectural intent, the project balances simplicity with presence, transforming the existing dwelling into a considered coastal retreat that feels both grounded and quietly expansive.

OUR PROJECTS Sunshine Beach Project type: Alterations & Additions  Location: Sunshine Beach, Queensland ABOUT THE PROJECT A calm interplay of form, light, and coastal living. Located in Sunshine Beach with views toward the ocean, this alterations and additions project reimagines an existing residence through a refined coastal architectural language. A new battened screen wraps the existing bulky street-facing façade, softening its scale while providing privacy and creating a more considered arrival to the home. To the rear, curved forms, generous glazing and layered outdoor living spaces strengthen the connection between the interiors, pool and ocean outlook beyond. OUR PROJECTS THE FARM Project type: Residential Location: Northern NSW ABOUT THE PROJECT Where traditional farmhouse forms meet contemporary architectural clarity. Set within the rolling landscape in Northern New South Wales, this contemporary farmhouse has been designed as a series of connected pavilions that respond to both the scale of the site and the surrounding rural setting. Strong gabled forms and natural materials draw from traditional farmhouse architecture, while clean lines, expansive glazing and refined detailing introduce a contemporary architectural language. Organised around a central courtyard and pool, the home creates a strong connection between indoor and outdoor living, with textured masonry, warm timber cladding and deep overhangs grounding the residence within the landscape. Large openings frame views across the property while allowing natural light and ventilation to move freely through the home, creating a calm and highly considered architectural outcome. 

OUR PROJECTS BLADE Project type: Residential Location: Gold Coast, QLD ABOUT THE PROJECT A contemporary Gold Coast home defined by a bold material palette and seamless indoor outdoor living. This residence boasts a striking façade, defined by the dynamic interplay of materials. Feature linear brickwork provides a textured, but strong foundation, complemented by robust off-form concrete. Black metalwork highlights key architectural elements, adding sharp contrast, while polished render offers a refined finish that ties the composition together, enhancing the overall visual impact. Inside the home, the design is both luxurious and clean. Minimalist lines and a neutral colour palette allow high-quality materials to take centre stage, creating an elegant yet understated ambiance.

A new two storey residence for repeat clients in Hendra of Brisbane. The planning of this 5 bedroom home wraps around a central pool & outdoor area used as a feature which is viewed from both stories throughout the main living and circulation spaces.

OUR PROJECTS AIRLIE Project type: Residential Location: Airlie Beach, QLD ABOUT THE PROJECT A hillside Airlie Beach home immersed in tropical landscape, timber and stone. Nestled in the hills of Airlie Beach, the residence integrates tropical elements and local materials to create a strong connection with its surroundings. Natural timbers, clean white render, expansive glazing and locally sourced stone lend authenticity and warmth to the architecture. On the first floor, living spaces are oriented to capture both ocean and hinterland views. Large openings connect inside and out, bringing in natural light and breezes, while the open-plan layout, high ceilings and deep overhangs promote cross-ventilation and passive cooling. Timber rooflines add texture and warmth, and stone elements ground the house in its landscape, creating a timeless link to the local geology. Lush, tropical planting softens the edges of the building and blurs the line between architecture and nature, resulting in a tranquil retreat that celebrates Queensland coastal living.

OUR PROJECTS OLIVE Project type: Alterations & Additions Location: Hendra, Brisbane ABOUT THE PROJECT A lifted pre 1946 Hendra home opened up around voids and a central courtyard. Olive is a major alterations and additions to an existing pre 1946 home located in Hendra of Brisbane. The renovation built by Villa Projects saw the existing home raised to accommodate high ceilings to the ground floor and a large double storey extension off the rear. The completed renovation includes key features such as a double storey void over the living and a central courtyard located within the main entrance hallway to capture and allow natural light to flood the living areas.
